The city of Kanchipuram has its historical significance
of being the capital of the Pallava Kingdom from 4th
Century AD. It is also known as the Temple City of South
India. Kanchipuram is located on the Palar River, and
known for its temples and silk sarees which are woven
manually. In the villages of this District very less
christian work has been done till now. No electricity
connection is available in these areas. People are addicted
to local liquor called 'charayam'. It is a potential
area with lot of children who are not having enough
access to good schooling. The main occupation of the
people is agriculture. Their parents are enthusiastic
to give their children a better education if available.
But they are very poor to send their children to good
schools. Education is the only means through which we
can reach to the people. Therefore we have started tuition
centers and evening schools in these areas.
